The L. M. Cole Descendants Association, on Friday, donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in support of the State Government’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, who received the donated items on behalf of the hospital, thanked the family for the donation, stressing that it was a thoughtful gesture to support the facility in its battle against the disease.

He assured the Cole family that the well appreciated donation would be deployed according to their wishes and that the donated disposable gowns would be used at the newly constructed holding bay in the hospital premises.

In his remarks, Mr. Sola Adu, one of the grandchildren and a representative of the Cole dynasty, said the family deemed it fit to support LASUTH in its ongoing battle to manage the pandemic and attendant challenges.

He remarked that, “it is obvious that the pandemic has changed our lifestyles. We have also seen our frontline health workers risk their lives daily to attend to patients with less than adequate protective gear”.

“We also know that getting vaccines still seems like a tough call. It is in this regard that the family decided to support the facility and its frontline workers with the 500 PPE Suits and other items”, Adu stated.

Other members of the Cole family present at the presentation were Mrs. Omolara Cole, wife of the Grand Patron and Head of the family; Mrs. Kehinde Cole, wife to one of Pa Cole’s children and Muyiwa Lawal, representing the great grand-child of the Cole family.
